Ok… I’m getting tired of real life Mario re-enactments, but this one demands your attention. It’s worth it alone to see the guy playing mario eat a mushroom. Then a flower. And then mercilessly hurl tennis balls at his friends from point blank range in the interests of physical comedy.

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG…
I’m close to wetting my pants for the second time in 24 hours. As a huge Sonic fan you have no idea how stunned I was when I saw this land in my feed reader:
A man pays $2500 for the only playable version of the Sonic X-treme known to exist. This is hard core.
The story […]

The inimitably intrepid British Gaming Blog delivers the goods once again, with news that an emulation fan by the name of PSMonkey has successfully installed an N64 emulator on Sony’s handheld.
More and more consoles are getting emulated on the PSP, and it seems N64 is underway now. PSMonkey has got Mortal Kombat to work on […]

Nintendo Gal posted this on her blog (which you should be reading if you’re not already) earlier today. It’s an advert for a Dutch political party based upon Super Mario Brothers. Not just loosely based on it mind, this thing has the music and sound effects right there in the advert.
I know nothing of the […]

As Joystiq said, this truly is piss-your-pants funny.
Deviant Artist Egoraptor deliveries a classic slice of gaming comedy with this Flash cartoon based on the first half hour of Metal Gear Solid. The in jokes are plentiful and there’s no shortage of genuine laugh out loud humor to be had.
Digging around in the Flash file also […]

It’s no secret that I’m ever so bored of NES mods, but occasionally a mod comes along that you can’t ignore… Brent Housen was crafty enough to gut a NES and replace the aged innards with a spangly Apple Mac Mini…
I’m not sure I’d do this myself seeing as though the mini looks so darn […]

In 2002 Mario speed run masters Jeff Ninneman and Jason Harmer raced each other in front of a crowd of braying, cadaverous halflings… Well… A crowd of people.
The game is of course Super Mario Bros on the NES, which Jeff and Jason have both finished in times of 5:11 and 5:09 respectively. It’s clear the […]

Aww yeah! It’s time once again to welcome another blog to the b5 media games channel.
Games Industry Wire is a blog written by our newest games blogger Justin Tippins and it concerns, oddly enough, the games industry itself rather than the games it produces…
There will be interviews, analysis, news… Oh! The content… Mmmmm…
Welcome aboard Justin! […]

In the wake of the series’ 20th anniversary yesterday, Vintage Computing states the case for a Legend of Zelda MMORPG:
Wouldn’t it be awesome to play a massively multi-player online role-playing game (MMORPG) set in the Zelda universe? Perhaps Nintendo could make a spiffy, slick 3D one with nice graphics for their upcoming Revolution console. If […]

My good buddy Blake Snow over at Infendo made a “post” on his “weblog” recently about a collection of retro gaming scenes rendered from tiny little plastic bricks…
“Tish and Fipsy!” I said, “Plastic bricks? Preposterous!”
Tonight I dine on a feast of my own words, for the scenes of which Blake’s weblog hath spake are indeed […]
