Street Fighter: More Touch of Death combos

Picking up from where we left off, I was talking about Ken Masters’ Touch of Death combo on Street Fighter II. After a few tries (I’m trying to master it, but my fingers are kind of stiff, having been overused in MMORPGs), I’m thoroughly convinced that you can do a Touch of Death combo with […]

Street Fighter II: Ken’s Touch of Death Combo

I found this really nick trick for Ken Masters on Street Fighter II for the arcade, Super Nintendo Entertainment System, and Sega Genesis. It’s called the Touch of Death Combo, and I’ve been trying it out (trying being the operative term). The move actually entails two combos: the first disables an opponent, the second knocks […]

Video game consoles, then and now

Did you know that there have been at least 63 video game consoles and personal computers in the past 50 years? Well, I didn’t … honestly. So imagine my surprise when I came across this video:

The author of this mish-mash, however, missed the entire Apple line of personal computers. I owned an Apple IIc, so […]

A dreamy arcade stick

Over on Racketboy’s forums (or fora if we’re to use the correct plural), user Jesmic has posted details of this awesome home made Dreamcast arcade stick, made with inductry standard arcade components…

Saturn Shenmue

Before it appeared on the Dreamcast Shenmue was originally in development for the Sega Saturn. This is an early tech demo, and is a surprising example of just what the Saturn was capable of, although it’s definitely for the best that it was released on the DC. I wonder how many CDs this game would […]

Shenmue online still in production?

Kikizo Games were recently honored with a interview with Sega’s Yu Suzuki, head of AM Plus and games innovator extraordinaire.
In the interview, Suzuki talks about his forthcoming arcade project, a touch screen pyrokinesis-em-up called Psy-Phi, what he makes of the Revolution controller and briefly touches upon the impending console war. However, Suzuki’s most exciting revalation […]

50 Dreamcast games coming to Xbox 360?

I’m not really in the habit of posting about, nor reading up on, the latest rumors surrounding gaming, but this one is too good to let go.
Xbox360 News has posted an article containing many rumors concerning the future of the shiny white thing, but there’s only one in there that a retro games blog should […]

A PC? In a Dreamcast?

That’s right, this guy gutted his Dreamcast (It’s ok… He bought a broken one on eBay), to fit it out with a VIA EPIA 800 Mini-ITX motherboard, a 20GB notebook hard drive and 512mb of PC133 SDRAM. The intention of course being to turn it into a PC.
What would have made this project cooler is […]

Sonikku!

I just spotted these somewhat weird Sonic Adventure commercials on Digg.
We catch up with our intrepid hero and his friends (represented with plush toys which I’m sure were trying to be sold at the same time) aboard a plane. Sonic jumps out of the plane and, get this, impales his head upon a spear.
Really.
The other […]
