The Re:Retro Top 100 Games Of All Time!

Gasp! Choke! The blogosphere is up in arms!

That yawning sound you hear, like a thousand thousand videogame bloggers all thinking ‘oh god not this again’ at once, is the sound of the internet literally breaking in half.

I’m not going to waste your time by copying and pasting the full 100, mostly because I don’t think there’s even one that could be called a retro game. Tetris, maybe, but the rest of them seem to have a few too many pixels for my liking. A bunch of jumped up fancy-nancy games that don’t take 45 minutes to load up on a tape cassette, I’ll warrant. So it’s time to announce the Re:Retro top 100 games of all time!

The call will go forth to the cabal of Re:Retro Readers - those who can join me in the pub tomorrow - and there, we shall decide the top 100 games of all time! Actually the top 100! Nobody will be able to look at my list and say that a game which revolves around an ocarina of all things is at number one!

The rules of picking these are simplicity itself. One of the group proposes something for inclusion on the list. If more than half of the others veto it, it’s out. Otherwise, it’s in. We then go round the table working our way down the list until we get to number one. It’s utterly foolproof. It might even be how Edge compiled their list, as it seems to make no sense otherwise.

I’m confident that the winds of destiny will pick the Ultimate Top 100 Games! Stay tuned to see how the list turns out!
