I’ve Been Memed
I’ve been tagged with a meme by Mike at FPS Rantings! The deal is that I have to provide seven random facts about myself and then get seven other bloggers to do the same. This is going to cause some difficulties as I don’t know if I’m on friendly enough terms with seven bloggers to perform this kind of stunt. Let’s get the seven facts out of the way first…
1. I once sold Tom Baker a dictionary.
2. My first novel, El Sombra, is out Friday, or so Borders tells me. I just got commissioned for a second too - it’s work-for-hire, but still, woot! Go pick it up if you want a merry tale of Steam-powered Nazis!
3. I think sashimi is nature’s most perfect food. Unfortunately it’s pricey and hard to come by, so I can’t get it more than about twice a year. Also, I love eating squid, particularly in a delicious salt and pepper batter.
4. I’m a big fan of Scott Walker.
5. The Red Lion in York, where I was a regular for five good years, has recently been taken over by people so utterly objectionable and unable to run a hostelry that I can’t bring myself to go back inside. You suck, Red Lion.
6. I visited New Orleans before Katrina and ate part of an alligator while I was there. Also gumbo. Mmmm, delicious gumbo, made with real swamp critters… you can’t get it here, it’s a crying shame. And I went into a McDonald’s-a-like and got a giant plate of crawdads for something like four bucks. You can’t really get crawdads here either. The UK needs more sea and swamp creatures to go onto my plate.
7. My roof has developed a worrying leak. The landlord says he’s going to have someone round early tomorrow morning to fix it, but I remain unconvinced.
That was easy! Now for the difficult bit - finding seven other people to do this.
Um… well… I could… ah… oh, Jonic’s blog is down… um… well, that leaves… um… I’m not really on good enough terms with… no…

No worries, Al. I had the same problems too when I started thinking who to tag. Then I remembered that there are more than seven people in the VG channel. :P

When you’re tagged in a meme, it means you have to follow the rules given in the meme. It’s like a chain letter of sorts, except it’s harmless (some chain letters are pretty crazy/nasty) and in the form of a blog entry.
In this meme’s rules (as mentioned by Al), a tagged blogger must put in seven random facts about him/herself, then tag seven more bloggers. Of course, the tagger must inform the tagged about the meme.
