N64 on PSP?
The inimitably intrepid British Gaming Blog delivers the goods once again, with news that an emulation fan by the name of PSMonkey has successfully installed an N64 emulator on Sony’s handheld.
More and more consoles are getting emulated on the PSP, and it seems N64 is underway now. PSMonkey has got Mortal Kombat to work on his emulator, and will be releasing it soon…
How soon though? And how popular will this prove to be? At least PSP owners will finally have some decent games to play (Zing! I’m on fire!)!

On the YouTube page for this video there is plenty of information about the emulator itself, but what is interesting is this:
Just to let everyone know, PSMonkey is not the only one developing a N64 emulator. I have been working on my own N64 emulator for a couple of months now. My emulator is called Donkey64 and is in its beta stages right now. I am including a video of my emulator playing MarioKart64.
So it appears that the emulator in the video isn’t actually PSMonkey’s emulator, and in fact Donkey64 seems to be the first out of the gates with a preview. I wonder how PSMonkey got caught up in all this? Perhaps it’s a case of chinese whispers.
It doesn’t matter too much, just so long as a solid N64 emulator hits PSP screens then that’s all that matters. Although I did find this comment on the video funny:
The only way to make PSP good is to steal Nintendo copy righted games and put them on it? Funny. Buy a DS.

Dude that video was tight i’ve downloaded like 5 different 64 emulators and they all run hella slow your on the other hand looked really smooth so when its done beta testing then let me know you now have my email so let me know

I didn’t make the emulator, I just reported on it…
The guy who made the emulator, PSMonkey, has a website that you can find at http://nemo.dcemu.co.uk/
I’m not sure how far through development it is, but he should be able to help you…

Let me put it this way; You already decided that you were going to be Sony’s bitch long before the DS was released, and haven’t thought twice about your “decision”. Then again, what did you decide?

See, I have the luxury of choice. I am free to choose which software I want to play on whatever hardware I want. I do not cling so rabidly to brand loyalty that I may as well scratch my PIN into the back of my ATM card and mail the fucker to whichever company is making whichever product that the adverts say I should buy. I have my own mind and I can make my own decisions.
I have played a PSP, and I have played (and own) a DS. I enjoyed both, but I felt that the DS was more suitable for my needs as a gamer. The main reason being there are more games available on the DS that would enjoy playing. There are still games that I would consider buying a PSP for, but it’s not economically viable for me to own both at the moment. When the PSP’s price drops maybe I’ll pick one up, but right now I’m happy with the DS.
See what I did there? I weighed up the two and I made a fucking choice. Holy shit!
Here’s the deal sugartits: No one likes a fanboy. Don’t get me wrong, Nintendo has its fair share of fanboys too, and if one of them stops by to issue a similar statement to the cack that you’re shitting out then they’ll no doubt receive the same treatment.
