Mega Drive vs. Genesis
I’ve been thinking about this for a while now. Which name should I use for the Mega Drive/Genesis?
Of course it won’t make sense to use the two interchangeably, so I’ve to pick one and stick to it.
It may not be a secret to you that I’m in the UK, so it was of course the Mega Drive over here, but there are probably more American gamers who will end up reading this blog that are more familiar with the Genesis handle.
I’ve decided to name the console as it was originally named in the country of its conception. It was called the Mega Drive in Japan as well as Europe, so that’s also two territories against one. Mega Drive it is.
This has been an almost pointless post brought to you by Re:Retro featuring the Sega Mega Drive.
